Using Virtual Reality to Support Acting in Motion Capture with Differently Scaled Characters
Robin K. Kammerlander, Andre Pereira, Simon Alexanderson
2021 IEEE Virtual Reality and 3D User Interfaces (VR), pp. 402-410
A within-subjects study with trained actors: putting the scene and a differently scaled co-actor into VR raised the performers' sense of body ownership and immersion, and changed how they played the scene.
- Master's thesis · 2020
Collaborative Acting in Virtual Reality: Character embodiment for improving actor's immersion and minimizing scale mismatches for motion capture performances
Robin K. Kammerlander
KTH Royal Institute of Technology, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science
The system and the study the paper above came out of, built and evaluated with actors from Stockholm University of the Arts.
